Bonifanti Pandoro Classico
Pandoro is the typical Christmas cake from Verona developed from a time-honoured local delicacy called Nadalin. Its characteristic eight-tip star shape was designed and patented at the end of the nineteenth century by impressionist painter Angelo dall’Oca Bianca. Some say the recipe derives from the “Pane de Oro” (“golden bread”) served, as early as the 13th Century on the tables of noble Venetians. Together with Panettone it is one of the most popular Italian Christmas cakes. Eggs make the soft mixture of flour, sugar, butter and yeast golden in colour.
In this recipe Bonifanti offers a soft dough, following the traditional recipe from Verona (Veneto, Italy) according to which the dough, made up of fresh barn eggs, a first-choice butter, fresh whole and pasteurised milk and cocoa butter, must be sparkled with powdered sugar.
