Born in the small town of Montevarchi where Bonci bakery is based, Isidoro del Lungo was a literary and historical critic and a recognized poet and writer. Bonci bakery has chosen to honour his brilliant and sophisticated nature with this remarkable dessert – a dense almond meal cake with a rich layer of apricot jam, soaked with aromatic amaretto (almond) liqueur. Distinguished, nuanced and truly remarkable.
From Bonci, third generation artisan bakers in Montevarchi in the heart of Tuscany. They are dedicated to quality and flavour – all their products are handmade with natural raw materials and preservative free. All their baked products are naturally leavened and made with their own mother yeast, they also make their own candied fruit in-house without preservatives, dyes or colours.

Cantucci are classic Tuscan biscuits made with flour, eggs, sugar and hand selected Italian almonds. The dough is stretched by hand to form a loaf, which is partly baked before being sliced and baked again to create the characteristic crunchy texture. Delicious enjoyed with a glass of Vinsanto.
